Jeff Roberts Fund
Application for Jeff Roberts Family Assistance Fund
The Jeff Roberts family assistance fund began after the CMHA bantam rep team of 2009/2010 hosted the Bantam Provincial tier 3 event. Jeff Roberts was an incredibly involved parent and volunteer for CMHA. He volunteered as a team manager, safety person, and facilitated dry land training. Early on in 2009 Jeff volunteered to assist the team in fundraising for the Provincial tournament, he worked diligently writing grant applications and soliciting Corporate sponsorship. He raised a substantial amount of funds to allow the event to take place.

All the while he was fighting a huge battle with cancer. The CMHA bantam team worked exceptionally hard and won the Championship. The team was motivated to win the championship on home ice so that Jeff could watch, as he was large inspiration for the team. Shortly after the Provincials came to an end Jeffs cancer took a turn for the worse. He would eventually pass away on May 8, 2010.

Prior to his passing we knew that we would have a surplus of money from the event. We asked Jeff how he wanted to see the surplus be used as he was a driving force behind acquiring the funds. He decided that he wanted to see the money dispersed to families who need assistance paying team fees, as this is an area where there are no funding opportunities for families. This fund is named after the man who gave so much to CMHA through his endless volunteering. It is for this reason that we request that in receiving these funds that you reciprocate this volunteerism and volunteer in any capacity within CMHA.
Note:
Applications are open September 01 - October 14 and recipients will be notified by the end of October.
